Abstract
This paper examines on the crucial role of government policies to ameliorate rural youth from the unconstructive impact of COVID-19 pandemic situation and focuses on the immediate measures through government to create sustainable opportunities. The COVID-19 pandemic situation has brought every economic activity into a halt. Rural sector is suffering from closure of all commercial activities. The rural youth who had shifted to urban centres in search of employment have returned to villages. The absence of creative initiatives to create productive employment opportunities in rural sides is severely hitting the rural youth. The Pandemic situation has closed all doors of commercial activities and rural agriculture sector is waiting for stringent measures through Government. Government of India has already supported the rural sector with several interventions but there are several other ways to assist the rural sector .The government initiatives need to promote community leadership, through encouragement of comprehensive political participation, and involvement of rural youth in the government policy making process.

Introduction
The COVID-19 pandemic has created hopelessness and depression among rural youth. The loss of agricultural productivity and loss of agro based employment has hit the rural sector like never before. Millions of rural youth are suffering from loss of livelihood means and are further diverted to poverty and desperation. The closure of educational institutions has further added to their distraction. Youth are diverting their energies to discover inadequately paid employment in nearby suburban markets and far off urban centres. This pandemic situation has made devastating influence on their academic future as majority of them are dropping out of education. The drop out ratio is increasing and access to all higher education is diminishing . The youth who sustained on small agro sector businesses are completely deviated. The urge to create new employment opportunities in their neighbourhood was poorly supported by government policies.

Rural NGOs play key role in preparation, training and initiating inclusive practices. Government needs to opt for public private partnerships (PPP). Rural NGOs can take up training rural youth and rural women through individual counselling and individual assistance. Rural India suffers from internet connectivity, faster broad band services, alternate energy solutions, and proper direct beneficiary money transfer services.
Role of strict monitoring
All these deficiencies need to be monitored through stiff and meticulous interventions. If all strategies created for the benefit of the rural sector are supervised strictly, then all these measures will prove beneficial for the rural youth.
