Mission The mission of the Department is “to pursue excellence towards creating manpower with high degree of intellectual, professional and cultural development to meet the needs of national and global challenges with special emphasis on sensitizing students towards environmental issues & preservation of natural resources so that they can contribute to sustainable socio- economic growth of the Nation”. The department has a well-qualified & experienced faculty members. Teaching-learning activities in the department are designed in such a way that they stimulate intellectual curiosity, creativity & innovation in students. Faculty members aim to provide a strong foundation for a better understanding of recent advances in Zoology & its practical significance. The effort of the faculty and well experienced supporting staff is to inculcate critical thinking & analytical skills in students to enable them to pursue higher studies & research in life sciences or related fields of Zoology. It seeks to provide skill based programmes to motivate the students for self employment in applied branches of Zoology. It envisions to inculcate spirit of resource conservation by conducting field studies & different projects of local & global interests. It aims to bring about an awareness regarding nature & biodiversity by encouraging students to pursue higher studies & research & help to solve different problems to establish sound & peaceful environment for the society.
