1. Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana), also known as the purple mangosteen is a tropical evergreen tree with edible fruit native to tropical land surrounding the Indian Ocean. It's origin is uncertain due to wide spread prehistoric cultivation it grows mainly in southeast Asia, Southwest India and other tropical area such as Columbia and Puerto Rico where the tree has been introduced. The tree grows from 6 to 25 meters (20 to 82 feet) tall. The fruit of the mangosteen is sweet and tangy, juicy somewhat fibres, with fluid filled vesicles (like the flesh of citrus fruits), with an inedible, deep reddish purple colour rind ( exocarp) when ripe. in each fruit the fragrant edible flesh that surrounds each seeds in botanically endocarp i.e. the inner layer of the ovary The seeds are of similar size and shape.
2. Horned melons are related to fruit like muskmelons and cucumber. Plants produces and orange coloured fruit that has rough, spiky outer skin. Don't be intermediate according to test of home the fruit inside is sweet tasting somewhat like a kiwi or a banana but a bit more citrusy. To eat a horned melon , slice the fruit in half, scoop out the fruit & serve.
3. The durian is the edible fruit of several tree species belonging to the genus Durio. There are 30 recognised durio species, at last 9 of which produce edible fruit. Durio zibethinus, native to Borneo and Sumatra, he is the only species available in the international market. It has over 300 named varieties in Thailand and hundred in Malaysia has of 1987. Other species are sold in their local region. Durians are commonly associated with Southeast Asia cuisine, especially in Indonesia to Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.
4. Passion fruit sounds exotic, but it does not look that way. At least at first it grows on climbing passion flower vines in tropical regions like Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii and from the outside it looks small and egg shaped with yellow or purple skin. You might confuse it for a small lemon or plum- until you slice it in half.
5. Dragon fruit is it tropical fruit that has become increasingly popular in recent years. though people primarily enjoy it for its unique you look and taste, evidence suggest it may provide health benefit as well.
6. Guava( psidium guajava), small tropical tree or shrub of the family Myrtaceae, cultivated for its edible fruits. Guava trees are native to tropical America and are grown in tropical and subtropical area worldwide. Guava fruits are processed into jams, jellies & preserves and is common pastry filling. Fresh guava is rich in vitamin A, B & C; they are commonly eaten raw and maybe sliced and served with sugar and cream as a desert.
